These days, there is a lot of talk going on about all kinds of leveling guides. Endless debates are going on about which mage leveling guide is the best and if you should use one at all.

Some people think they actually destroy the gaming experience. You don’t read quest descriptions, visit only some parts of the areas and miss the story.

Others say they leveled properly with their first character and don’t need to see every corner of the world all over again. They just want to get to the end game with a new toon.

Personally, I believe both sides are right.

What would WoW look like if all players would just use a mage leveling guide to rush through the world to get to the end game content.

It would be a somewhat antisocial gaming experience. Kind of like commuters going to work in the morning.

But the fact that these add-ons aren’t banned by Blizzard shows that it’s not offensive to use them at all. Probably Blizzard knows how frustrating level a new character can really be. That’s why players are allowed to help themselves to make things a bit easier.

In fact, would you rather give up playing World of WarCraft because you’re annoyed at how long it takes to level up? Or would you rather get through with it and enjoy the end game content?

Hmm.

Guess what Blizzard wants. I think it’s a win-win situation. When you use a mage leveling guide to level up another twink you will play the endgame content instead of quitting the game.

Folks, just enjoy the game your way and stop getting irritated if somebody has a different perspective. As long as we all play by the rules, we’ll get to enjoy the game.

Today I hear a lot of talk that is going on about using – or not using – a leveling guide. Endless debates are going on about which is the best mage leveling guide and if you should use one at all.

There are some people claiming that leveling guides would in fact destroy the atmosphere in WoW. They say that by using a leveling guide addon you simply rush through the world, ignoring the story and quest descriptions and events.

On the other hand, players that use such guides say that they have already leveled up their main character and don’t need to see everything again. They just want to get to the end game with a new alt. These players don’t want to spend days and weeks on leveling another character.

I think the truth is somewhere in the middle.

What would WoW look like if all players would just use a mage leveling guide to rush through the world to get to the end game content.

They would kind of act like robots, ignoring everyone and everything. Kind of like commuters going to work in the morning.

But the fact that these add-ons aren’t banned by Blizzard shows that it’s not offensive to use them at all. The truth is, that the game mechanics right now reward playing solo. There are few moments when you actually need to interact with other players.

In fact, would you rather give up playing World of WarCraft because you’re annoyed at how long it takes to level up? Or would you rather get through with it and enjoy the end game content?

Guess what Blizzard wants. I think it’s a win-win situation. Keep playing and both yourself and Blizzard are happy. You have more fun and they earn some money.

Folks, just enjoy the game your way and stop getting irritated if somebody has a different opinion on your mage leveling guide. As long as we all play by the rules, we’ll get to enjoy the game.
